Haywood L. Freeman, 59, of Newnan departed his life on September 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 13, 1952 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Mrs. Jessie L. Freeman Whatley and the late Mr. Charlie Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John C. Whatley.

John was a member of The Dent Chapel A. M. E. Church until his death. He was educated in the Coweta County School System, attending Westside Elementary School and Central High School.

Haywood leaves to cherish his memory his mother: Jessie L. Whatley; daughter: Kenya LaShun Woods; grandson: Kenyon Deonte’ Wood; sisters: Mr. & Mrs. A. C. (Jessie Ann) Bellamy, Mr. & Mrs. Bernard (Gussie) Knox; brothers: Mr.& Mrs. Danny (Kimberly) Freeman, Mr. & Mrs. John (Vanderlin) Whatley; a very dear friend: Ms. Brenda Harden; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
