Curtiss Fredrick Ross, age 96, of Peachtree City

He was born Dec. 4, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Ross was a World War II Veteran, serving as Private 1st Class 31st Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop, M-1 rifle sharpshooter, from 1943 to 1945, in the South Pacific Islands.

He was discharged from the war with a serious back injury. Shortly after the War, he and his wife Arlene, moved to south Florida and raised five children. In 1998 they moved to Peachtree City. During most of his life he worked as an automobile mechanic and later in life he was a real estate agent.

Survivors include his sons, Robert C. Ross of Clarkesville, Ga., Thomas F. Ross of Peachtree City, Ga., and James G. Ross of Deltona, Fla.; daughters, Anita M. Kittredge of Upper Saddle River, N.J. and Pamela A. Marshall of Peachtree City, Ga., and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Curtiss Fredrick Ross will be held at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church, 1274 Ramah Church Rd., Barnesville, Ga. on Saturday Sept. 3, 2011, at 11a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
