Golf carts & handicapped parking: something’s wrong

Do I like golf carts?

No, when you are driving down Spear Road at the speed limit and come around a curve and all of a sudden there is a golf cart in the road going 10 mph what an idiot.

Now lets talk about the newly renovated shopping center next to Kmart. I never shop in Peachtree City; parking space is the problem. When I had open heart surgery, I was in a coma for a month and in the hospital for three months and I had to learn to walk again, so handicapped parking is a must for me.

My favorite hair dresser is now in a salon near Kmart, so I went there for a hair cut.

Well, dear old Peachtree City has GOLF CART parking near the salon and on down further handicapped parking. So you have to walk up the sidewalk, climb a set of steps, walk a little further and there is the salon.

Now let me see, people who drive golf carts usually play golf and that involves WALKING, so if you play golf, physically you are not handicapped maybe mentally, but not physically, right?

Now IF you drive a golf cart and you are handicapped, then you have a handicapped sticker and you can park in a handicapped spot, right?

Please tell me why someone designs a parking lot with golf cart parking near the shops and handicapped parking that you have to hunt for, and walk a distance. To me this is insanity.

It amazes me that people who drive golf carts think they are driving a Cadillac; attitude is everything. You dont buckle in your infants or small children; they are on the back of the cart where a good bump will make them eat cement. But driving a golf cart is so much the in thing, so kids are just there to hang on and try to survive.

Yes, you save gas, but I feel so safe in my Dodge Ram 1500, and I use the seat buckle, so I can be safe with all the golf carts with teens driving, and of course all the golfers that are too lazy to walk in a parking lot.
