Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Smith of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Smith, to Joshua Andrew Christ, son of Anthony Christ of Gainesville, Fla. and Ms. Linda Christ of Canton, Ga.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Fayette High School and a 2008 summa cum laude graduate of Virginia Tech, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise. She is currently attending the Virginia Osteopathic School of Medicine, pursuing a doctorate in osteopathic medicine.
The groom-elect is a 2002 graduate of Cherokee High School and 2006 graduate of The University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. He is employed as a retail manager with Morrison Management Specialists at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, in Fayetteville. Following a honeymoon to Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple will reside in Spartanburg, S.C.
