Carriage Lane yard sale is Friday, Saturday
Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City is hosting its sixth benefit yard sale for Ranch on Jesus Orphanage in Uganda, East Africa Aug. 12 and 13. The sale runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12 and from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13. Donations can be dropped off through Wednesday at the church. Carriage Lane is on the corner of Walt Banks Road and Ga. Highway 54.

Video viewing featured Sunday at COS
Worship at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City Aug. 13-14 will include clips from videos submitted during a nationwide “Living Lutheran” contest. One highly-rated video was made by local sixth-grader Morgan Wiese and Interim Director of Youth and Family Ministries, Marta Diehm. Teachers in the church’s Sunday School, middle-school Logos, high-school L.O.F.T., adult Christian education, and other ministries will be blessed during worship, too.

Nativity continues new service schedule
The Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fayetteville, which began having a single service at 10 a.m. each Sunday early in the summer, will continue on that schedule for the rest of this calendar year. The church had originally planned to return to two Sunday services beginning this month but decided to stick with the present arrangement because it has been well received by members and also has enabled the parish to reduce costs for utilities. Sunday school classes will resume Sept. 11.

PTCUMC starts Divorce Care Aug. 17
Divorce Care at Peachtree City United Methodist Church will begin a 14-week seminar and support group on Wednesday, Aug. 17 for people who are separated or divorced. The sessions will continue through Nov. 16. The group will meet each Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 225 Robinson Rd., Room 300, in Peachtree City. Holy Trinity will begin GriefShare Aug. 17
GriefShare, a Christian-based 13-week video/discussion grief recovery group, is being offered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 101 Walt Banks Rd., Peachtree City. Each session is self-contained and one is welcome to begin attending at any session. Sessions will be offered beginning Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 19, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. For more information contact Gayle Reddy, 770-631-8251.

Brooks thrift store plans tent sale
The Second Chance Thrift Shop in Brooks is having a huge Tent Sale on Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20 at the shop. All clothing and shoes will be half off! In addition, larger items such as furniture will be for sale. The Second Chance Thrift Shop is at 151 McIntosh Road, Brooks, which is just east of the post office. SAGE will visit Cyclorama Aug. 18
The S.A.G.E. group (Senior Adults Going Everywhere) will visit the Cyclorama’s Battle of Atlanta exhibit and Civil War Museum at Grant Park in Atlanta and have lunch at The Varsity Thursday, Aug. 18. The trip is expected to run approximately from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations must be made no later than Aug. 15 and the trip is dependent upon 15 people signing up. The cost is $10 plus lunch on your own at The Varsity. Register with Connie in the church office no later than Aug. 15.
