Kay Marie Holder, 73, of Peachtree City went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 28, 2011.
Kay was originally from Shawnee, Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Journalism. While working for the Abilene Reporter News, she met her future husband Gene Holder, whom she spent the next 50 years with. Together they traveled many places during her husband’s 28-year Air Force career. She was always a leader in her community and church. She was known for her outgoing personality and never being at a loss for words. She was beloved by her family and friends and has left all a wealth of happy memories.
She is survived by her husband Eugene “Gene” Holder, Jr.; sons Tom (Michelle) Holder of Peachtree City, Mark (Cathy) Holder of Greenville, NC; daughter Tracy (Monte) Brinkley of Grand Prarie, TX; grandchildren Nathan (Laura) Holder of Kennesaw, Hannah (J.T.) Cheek of Valdosta, Sarah Holder of Peachtree City, David Holder, Peachtree City, Jordan Holder, Kelsey Holder & Lauren Holder of Greenville, NC; Jeremiah Brinkley, Anna Brinkley, Samuel Brinkley & Alayna Brinkley of Grand Prarie, TX & brother Dan Thompson of McKinley, TX.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Peachtree City Building Fund.
