Special events will be held Sunday, June 12, at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity to mark Pentecost, a festival day in the liturgical calendar often celebrated as the “Birthday of the Church.”
After a worship service at 10 a.m., a brief parish meeting will be conducted. Following the meeting, special games and entertainment will be provided for both children and adults, with the church and parish hall brightened by colorful balloons and other decorations for the occasion. A pot-luck dinner will be served.
Pentecost also will inaugurate the church’s summer schedule with a single service at 10 a.m. each Sunday.
The Church of the Nativity is located at 130 Antioch Road, just off Georgia Route 92, south of Fayetteville. The Rev. Rita Henault is rector.
