Alma Jones Hunter, 103, formerly of Fayetteville and Hapeville, passed away May 7, 2011 at Laurel Park Nursing Home in Stockbridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hunter, and brothers James Jones (a former sheriff of Fayette County) and Gerald Jones.

Alma was a member of Hapeville First Baptist Church. Alma retired from Fulton County Board of Education after 27 years as a secretary at North Avenue Elementary School in Hapeville.

Alma is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Jerry & Rob Neely of Stockbridge; grandson Greg Neely and his wife Barbie of Powder Springs; granddaughter Lane Neely Pyke and her husband Charles of McDonough; great grandsons Preston, Austin, and Ross Neely , Chad and Chandler Pyke; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home Fayetteville. Interment will be at Camp Memorial Park.
