Patricia Ann “Pat” Gunny, 69, of Newnan, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away March 11, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Gunny retired from JC Penny after 35 years. She loved bird watching, especially hummingbirds. She also enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Gunny loved her grandchildren, dogs, and grand-dogs, and she especially loved her great-grandson Bentley.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years Ron Gunny; daughter Rhonda Nash of TX.; Son and daughter in law Michael & Susan Gunny of Stone Mountain; grandchildren Jennifer Wohlgenuth and Matthew Wohlgenuth and his wife Jenn; great grandson Bentley Wohlgenuth; brother Anthony J. Ziner of Daytona Beach, FL.; and her beloved dog Emma Jane.

A celebration of life will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, March 14, 2011 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Southwest Christian Hospice at www.swchristiancare.org.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Emory University Hospital and St. Josephs Hospital, and also the hospice nurses with United Hospice and Southwest Christian Care.
