Work crews on Monday will begin work that will lead to the replacement of the bridge on Moore Road at White Oak Creek. A detour using Gordon Road to Martin Mill Road to Scoggin Road is being advised for the 17-month project.

The bridge replacement on Moore Road over White Oak Creek Tributary requires that the road be closed for removal and replacement of the bridge, said Coweta County spokesperson Patricia Palmer. The closure will begin March 7 and the road will be reopened by August 7, 2011.

The recommended detour is Gordon Road to Martin Mill Road to Scoggin Road, Palmer said. Moore Road intersects with Martin Mill Road just south of Ga. Highway 16.

Gregory Bridge Company is completing this project and it is funded through the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST.)
