Monday is Valentine’s Day, but many couples will celebrate this weekend. If you are looking for some things to do with your sweetheart, here are some ideas.

The Legacy Theatre will end their run of “The Marvelous Wonderettes” this weekend. The show follows four young women in a musical group. The first act takes place at their high school reunion in 1958 and the second act takes place at their 10-year reunion. Audiences have loved the show’s wonderful sense of humor, heart and toe-tapping soundtrack. Phone 404-895-1473 or visit www.thelegacytheatre.org.

Artworks on the Square in Fayetteville will offer art dates on Friday and Monday night, Valentine’s Day. The event lasts from 7-9 p.m. and will allow people to create paintings, while enjoying desserts. The fee is $35 per person. Call 678-545-0278 for more information.

Twilight Theatre will have an event on Valentine’s Day – Broadway By Candlelight – and will bring it back the following weekend. The show will take place at the Fayette YMCA Black Box Theatre at 8 p.m. The show on Feb. 20 is at 2:30 p.m. To get tickets, go to: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/153782
If you’re up for entering Atlanta this weekend and may have to drag along the kids, check out “Peter Pan,” in midtown. Performances are Tuesday-Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 1 and 5 p.m. Prices range from $20-$125. Visit www.peterpantheshow.com or phone 1-888-772-6849 for more information and to purchase tickets.

Of course, one of the more popular dates is dinner and a movie. With the Oscars right around the corner there are plenty of great movies in theaters like “True Grit,” “The King’s Speech,” “Black Swan,” and “The Fighter.” If you’re looking for a romantic comedy, Adam Sandler’s “Just Go With It,” opens this weekend and “No Strings Attached,” with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman is still out. If you have to take the family with you, the animated comedy “Gnomeo and Juliet” arrives in theaters on Friday and “Tangled” is still in theaters as well.

As for dinner, there are endless possibilities. City Cafe and Bakery in Fayetteville has top-notch European cuisine and a world-class bakery for an after dinner dessert, while Pascal’s in Peachtree City is a favorite spot for fine dining with a menu full of mouth-watering dishes. If you want to go more casual, Maguire’s Family and Friends in Senoia can provide plenty of spots to get cozy with your loved one and enjoy some great food and fun. Other favorites are Founders in Senoia, Thai Jasmine in Fayetteville and Kane Yama in Peachtree City.

Whatever you decide to do for your loved one this weekend, have fun.

And don’t forget the flowers.
