Volunteers are already in the planning stages for the 2011 Children’s Chair-ity Event benefiting The Children’s Village at Christian City.

For the 5th year in a row, community leaders, artists, and sponsors will come together to host this exciting event on December 1, 2011 at The Dolce Atlanta in Peachtree City. Once again, Angela Bean will serve as Chair of the volunteer committee.

In December 2010, State Representative Matt Ramsey and his wife Missy, along with 20 other notable leaders served as host for this holiday party which helps abandoned and abused children who live in the cottages on Christian City’s campus.

The event was a wonderful success and raised over $35,000.

Guests enjoyed fabulous food, music, and a festive  “Santa’s Workshop Silent Auction” which featured hand-painted chairs by local artisans, and over 100 items donated by local businesses.

Christian City has been caring for less fortunate kids in a family centered, residential setting since opening the first cottage on Valentine’s day 1965. Over 1,000 children have called Christian City “home.”

If you would like to learn more about The Children’s Village or how to sponsor a child, please call Heidi Becker at 770-703-2636 or visit www.christiancity.org.
