Get Ready for Tornado Siren Test Wednesday, Family Reunion Workshop Planned, Economic Development Report, Fayette Earth Day, and more.
Are you ready for Tornado Season?
February marks the beginning of possible severe weather in Georgia, and Severe Weather Awareness Week is this week. To mark the occasion, there will be a statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, February 9, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Fayette County will sound the tornado sirens throughout the County, including in Peachtree City, to make sure they are functioning correctly. This is a great time to practice your tornado response plan at home or at work. Please do not call 911 when you hear the sirens. If severe weather threatens on Wednesday, February 9, the drill will be moved to Friday, February 11, at the same time. To learn more about tornado preparedness, visit www.ready.ga.gov.
HOA Contacts Needed, Speakers Available
Peachtree City maintains a listing of homeowner associations on the City web site, www.peachtree-city.org, under the “Virtual Neighborhoods” link on the main page. This section also contains information on neighborhood zoning, setbacks, and neighborhood covenants. Please check to make sure your HOA contact information is current. Also, if your HOA has an upcoming meeting, a Peachtree City Code Enforcement Officer can attend to answer questions and discuss enforcement options and issues. Please contact Betsy Tyler at info@peachtree-city.org to update your HOA contacts or schedule a speaker at your next meeting.
Over 1,200 households have taken Peachtree City’s annual Resident Survey so far
The City of Peachtree City wants to know what all its residents think about the way the City is operated and how tax dollars are spent. Residents can take the online survey by visiting www.peachtree-city.org and selecting the Annual Resident Survey option from the main page. For those unable to take the survey online, printed copies are available at City Hall, the Peachtree City Library, and The Gathering Place. Both versions provide space to comment on any additional issues that may be of concern. Survey responses will be accepted at City Hall, 151 Willowbend Rd., through February 28, and results will be presented to the Mayor and City Council at the 2011 Retreat, which has tentatively been scheduled for the end of March.
