Bethany moves to Parrott’s temporarily
Because of the filming of a movie at the church, Bethany United Methodist Church is holding services at Parrott’s Funeral Home chapel now through Feb. 20. Services are expected to resume at the church on Feb. 27. Choir rehearsal will be suspended until after the filming. The movie, “Joyful Noise,” will star Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah, and Kris Kristoferson. Projected release date is January 2012.
PTCUMC starts DivorceCare Jan. 19
DivorceCare is a weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced and for those who are seeking healing from the pain of divorce. CDM plans ongoing workshop
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) in Fairburn will be the venue for a workshop series titled “40 Hours To Personal Success” to be held every fourth Saturday, from 1-5 p.m., beginning Jan. 22. Dr. Carolyn Driver of The Driver Institute will be the teacher. The workshop will show how to put into application the principles that will allow one to fulfill his/her potential and live his/her life at a deeper level and a higher dimension. Summit will host benefit concert
Wilmesherr, a band from Middle Tennessee University, will be in concert Friday, Jan. 28 at The Summit Church. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6. There is no charge for admission; however canned goods are requested. The staple food items will be donated to Fayette Samaritans, food bank. Project Linus schedules meetings
The Fayette County “Project Linus” group will meet at Community Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 349 Kenwood Rd., Fayetteville, on the third Wednesday of each month from noon until 3 p.m., and on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. until noon. Holy Trinity will offer GriefShare
Griefshare is being offered at Holy Trinity Church at 101 Walt Banks Rd. in Peachtree City. The 13-week Christian video/discussion group teaches ways for coping with the loss of a loved one.
