Peachtree City Police early Wednesday morning arrested two Atlanta men in connection with two Christmas week residential burglaries in the Smokerise subdivision. The burglary of a home in the Kedron Hills subdivision during the same period of time is still under investigation.

Kareem Quintez Moreland, 22, and Duntavious Rashard Moreland, 20, both of Lexington Avenue in Atlanta, were each charged with two counts of burglary, according to department spokesperson Rosanna Dove.

“The investigation led officers to the offenders’ residence in Atlanta where several items that had been stolen during the burglaries were located,” Dove said. “In addition, other items that are not currently linked to these burglaries were located within the residence. Both offenders were transported to the Fayette County Jail where they await court appearances.”

Dove said the investigation into the Kedron Hills burglary is ongoing.

Dove said detectives are currently investigating all circumstances of the crimes. She also advised that if residents witness anyone checking mailboxes, please write down the vehicle description, tag number, and occupant’s descriptions, and then call the Peachtree City Police Department immediately either at 911 or 770-461-4357.
