Miss Willette Brown, 90, of Fayetteville

Miss Willette Brown, 90, passed away on December 20, 2010 at Savannah Court in Newnan surrounded by her caring family.

Born in the Ebenezer Community of Fayette County to loving parents, Elizabeth (Lizzie) McEachern Brown and Marcus L. Brown, Jr., she was a graduate of Fayette County High School. After attending West Georgia (now State University of West Georgia) and teaching for a few years, she embarked on a long career at Standard Oil. After residing in Jacksonville, FL for a number of years, she returned to Fayetteville in 1957.

“Willie”, as she was known to family and friends, was an avid Georgia Tech football fan. She provided tickets for her family. She was a talented china painter and quilter. She was a long-time member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Willette’s main interest was her family and friends. She was the caregiver to her mother and sisters. She enjoyed her niece and nephews and their children and grandchildren immensely.

Willette was preceded in death by her parents and sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Dot) and James (Jimmy) Brewer and Rudene and Sam Hooten.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Shirley and James Brown of Newnan; niece Joni and Mark Bowles of Sharpsburg, James (Jimmy) Brown of Fayetteville, Mark , Cindy and Michael (Mike) Brown of Fayetteville; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Countryside Hospice or Savannah Court Assisted Living, 27 Belk Road , Newnan, GA 30263.
