Plans by healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente to open a micro-clinic at 101 Banks Station in Fayetteville were approved last week by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission. The clinic is expected to open near the end of March 2011.
Plans for the 6,420 square-foot building on North Glynn Street call for interior demolition and renovation of the former Blockbuster video rental business two doors south of the Chick-fil-A restaurant. Other plans call for the revitalization and rehabilitation of the building’s exterior, said city senior planner Linwood Robinson.
Company representatives said Monday that the clinic is expected to open near the end of March.
The services of four providers will be utilized at the micro-clinic in areas that include pediatrics and adult medicine with limited obstetrics-gynecology and a laboratory. The clinic will also have a pharmacy, representatives said.
Work on the building’s exterior will include constructing a new covered entry portico, constructing new walkways along the west and south sides of the existing building, remodeling and painting the existing exterior facade and aluminum/glass storefront, installing new fabric awnings over the existing window areas, providing a new asphalt coating and re-striping for the parking lot, constructing a new handicap ramp along the front of the building, constructing a new dumpster enclosure on the site, adding a new roof access ladder to the building and adding new landscaping to supplement the existing plantings at the site.
