It turns out that the arrest last week of 24 year-old Peachtree City resident Joseph Michael Robinson on charges stemming from the burglary of two churches in Peachtree City solved the cases of additional break-ins, including the burglaries of two churches in Coweta County.
Robinson was charged with the Nov. 22-23 burglaries at Peachtree City Christian Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church, both off Ga. Highway 74 North. Items taken in the burglaries included cash, computers and musical instruments, according to law enforcement sources.
But the investigation into Robinson’s activities led investigators to link him with additional burglaries in Coweta during November, including two at Crossroads Church on Ga. Highway 16 and Community Christian Church, also on Hwy. 16, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Maj. James Yarbrough.
Yarbrough said the Coweta burglaries resulted in the theft of $2,000 in church equipment including a portable music studio and a video projector.
Peachtree City investigators in a search of Robinson’s residence at 203 Morgan’s Turn found a substantial amount of electronics and money. Some of the items appear to be related to a fifth church burglary, at a location in North Georgia, police said.
