Mrs. Georgia Hill, born January 29, 1931, in Steelville, Missouri, passed away peacefully December 6, 2010, under hospice care at The Lafayette-Kindred Center near the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sherry Camp, in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Mrs. Hill battled cancer and liver failure for over a year and a half, and joined her husband Dr. Bob Hill, ten years to the day of his sudden homegoing. They had served together in vocational ministry for over fifty-five years. The Monday prior to her death brought the arrival of her 7th great-grandchild, a baby girl, named Georgia, in her honor.

Her funeral will be at The Donelson Fellowship, Nashville, TN, on Saturday morning, December 11, 11:00 a.m.

Georgia married Bob Hill on November 23, 1947. She had a daughter and three sons, who survive her with their families in Georgia, Israel, Tennessee and Germany. She was very thankful for her children, 18 grandchildren, and 7 great-grands. She ran her home and helped her husband through 5 pastorates and 2 professorial positions in 4 states, including Tennessee, Virginia, Illinois and Georgia. They started 2 businesses, ran 2 political campaigns, and Georgia went back to school late in life, earning her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Belmont College in 1991. She authored 5 books, and helped in the writing and editing of 60 books and numerous publications.

She was always the perfect hostess, as well as a teacher and conservative women’s leader. Together with Bob, she made 8 missions trips to Russia, Bosnia and Croatia, and they were honored by various Christian organizations for contributions in many areas of ministry. Over the years, she served as President of the Republican Women of Wilson County, President of the Christian Women of Nashville, and National President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Free Will Baptist. Before moving to Georgia in 2008 she was an honored substitute teacher for Wilson County Schools.
