Sandy Creek High School honored a hero Nov. 12 by officially renaming the Patriot Field House in memory of former football player Robert Collins, who died Apr. 7 in an explosion in western Iraq while serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army. Following the brief ceremony, the crowd erupted in applause to recognize Lt. Collins’ sacrifice for the country. Joining Patriot coaches and Principal Roy Rabold during the presentation were Lt. Collins’ parents, Sharon and Deacon. Photo/John Munford.
