Would you help provide toys for 1,000 children of military families?

Christmas is just around the corner and I am writing to, once again, ask for your support for Embracing Military Families. I know you have been so generous in the past, and I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to me and to the children we serve.

This year our mission is the largest it has ever been. We are looking to provide a toy for 1,000 children of deployed soldiers at Ft. Benning as well as provide Christmas for several particularly needy military families on the post. While there’s been a drawdown in troop strength in Iraq, the mission in Afghanistan has been expanded and many of the soldiers at Ft. Benning will be deployed this Christmas.

I look forward to the day when all of our soldiers can return victorious to their families, and all of their children can wake up on Christmas morning with their moms and dads safely at home. But until that time, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Many of the returning soldiers have told us how important it was to them to know their families at home were being taken care of while they were away. Many of these same soldiers are back in the war zone, having been deployed for the third or fourth time.

These families are doing their part, and it is my hope that we can continue to do our part by supporting them while their loved ones are away. Please prayerfully consider once again making a donation to Embracing Military Families, and thank you again for supporting our littlest heroes.

Please feel free to call me at 770-487-0672 if you have any questions. If you are interested in adopting one of our families, please call and I will give you the details.

New, unwrapped toys are being collected at Carrabba’s, Y-Knot Sports Bar, Mucklow’s Fine Jewelry, Massage Envy and the Main Terminal at Falcon Field, all in Peachtree City; as well as The Fayette Senior Center in Fayetteville.

Toys can also be delivered to my house at 202 Panstone Drive, Peachtree City. Checks should be made payable to Embracing Military Families.

With gratitude and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year,

Cathy McMullen
