Flat Rock Middle School will hold its annual Veteran’s Day Program on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 9 a.m., in the school’s gymnasium, with grades 6-8 in attendance. The school has invited its own valued science teacher, and retired Army veteran, Major Gregory Henry to perform the duties of Master of Ceremony. The Voices of Veterans are the honored and invited guests requested to speak again this year. Mr. Ed Reynolds and Mr. Cliff McKeitchan will speak on behalf of the Voices of Veterans to the Flat Rock student body, sharing experiences and love of country in remembrance of the Veteran’s Day holiday.
The attendees will be entertained with patriotic songs, and music from the Flat Rock band, chorus, and orchestra to include: “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Semper Fidelis,” “America the Beautiful,” and “Armed Forces, The Pride of America.” The Sandy Creek High School ROTC will be in attendance to present the flags and to lead formation.
All military personnel and their families will be honored with a reception in the school’s Media Center following the program. The program was planned and coordinated by the following: Leslie Rider, Chorus Teacher; Leslie Moon, Band Director, and Kelly Gallman, Orchestra Teacher. The public is invited to attend.
