The local community is invited to come and buy their pumpkin at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Pumpkin Patch on Highway 314 in Fayetteville, between Lowe’s and the Pavilion. The patch is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Proceeds from sales benefit the youth summer mission trips and Christmas service project. Also, a percentage of the proceeds support farmers on the Indian reservation in New Mexico by leasing the land to grow the pumpkins and by hiring them to harvest them. The pumpkins are delivered and then sold at church locations across the country.

“Our patch is about Christian community,” said Paula Littleton, youth director. “It is a full circle mission project. It’s about living and working together … laughing, enjoying cooler days and showing those that visit us what our church family can do. This patch helps the farmers, the truck drivers, and our youth group.”

She said that over the last three years, Prince of Peace has raised $20,673.69 from pumpkin sales which helped fund missions.
