F’ville woman arrested for identity fraud

Fayette County Sheriff’s Investigators made an arrest on Oct. 12 in connection with an identity theft case which was reported on Oct. 7. Investigators have arrested Fayetteville resident Sabrina NeeSmith on six counts of identity fraud and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

This case involved the 34 year-old NeeSmith writing fraudulent checks from a Fayette County victim’s Chase bank account at Ingles located in Fayetteville, Great Clips in Newnan, Food Depot in Griffin, and a Piggly Wiggly grocery store at an unknown location, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan.

Investigator’s obtained a search warrant for NeeSmith’s Fayette County home where a firearm was found. NeeSmith is a convicted felon, Rowan said.

While executing the Search Warrant at NeeSmith’s home, investigators also arrested Kevin Chambers, 41, of Fayetteville, for one count of violation of the Georgia Control Substance Act and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Rowan said.

Rowan said Chambers was inside NeeSmith’s home while investigators were executing the search warrant. Chambers was found to be in possession of marijuana and had access to the firearm that was located by investigators. Chambers is a convicted felon.
