Mr. Eugene Lamar Thomas, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away on September 30, 2010.

Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, James David Thomas, Sr. and Hattie Viola Holsomback Thomas; brother J.D. Thomas, Jr.; sister Dora Ferree.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Thomas; son Danny Thomas of Fayetteville; daughter Margo Jean (Mark) Burnett, Sr. of Loganville; grandchildren Jason Thomas, Shane Thomas, both of Mobile, AL, Jeremy (Missy) Thomas of Stockbridge, Melanie (Patrick) Fuller of Mobile, AL, Bryan Burnett and Bradley Burnett, both of Loganville; six great-grandchildren; brothers Ellis Thomas of Mableton, Ford (Ethel) Thomas of Clarksville, TN and Winston (Wilma) Thomas of Center, AL; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
