Aline Goforth Cieutat, 83, of Gulfport, FL, died on Friday, October 1, 2010.

Aline was born in Maryville , TN on January 31, 1927. She married Hubert A. Cieutat in 1946. They had four children. Hubert died in February 1973.

She is survived by her son Leon Cieutat of Gay, GA and his wife Joanne, her daughter Sylvia Cieutat Ball and her husband Smith of St. Petersburg, FL and her daughter-in-law Edie Cieutat of Peachtree City, GA.

Aline loved her grandchildren Sean, Jody, Richard and Matthew, her great-grandchildren Mallory, Cayden and Hailey and her nieces and nephews. They brought her much joy; she was a very proud “Grandma.”

She was preceded in death by her sons Hubert and Leo and grandson Mark Alan Cieutat.

After leaving Maryville, TN, she lived in Atlanta, GA, moved to Mobile, AL to raise her family and ultimately returned to Georgia. She lived in Fayetteville, Riverdale and then in Luthersville. She ultimately moved to Gulfport, FL to be near her daughter. There she enjoyed playing “Senior Citizen.” She enjoyed socializing, traveling, Bingo, puzzles, good food and watching the water out her window. She preferred never to sit at home wherever she was. She was a very strong woman and hard worker. She loved to work outside; to be outside. She spent many hours, many years raising very large vegetable gardens and flowers. You would find her plowing, planting, hoeing, weeding, harvesting and freezing the bounty until she moved to FL. When the family gathered you would often hear, “is that Grandma’s corn? green beans? If not, I don’t want any.” Aline’s family takes this occasion to thank their many friends for the kindness shown over the years to our mother and grandma. She will be missed but never forgotten.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
