Charles Edward Brooks, Sr., age 77, Fayetteville, GA, passed away on August 10, 2010.

He was born in 1933 in Atlanta to the late Jewel and Nannie G. Brooks. In 1951, he served in the U.S. Navy. On Dec. 4, 1954, he married the love of his life, Edith Smith Brooks.

He is survived by his wife and their two children, Judy Bowers of Americus, GA and Charles Edward Brooks, Jr. of Fayetteville; two sisters, Bonnie Freeman and Sue Perrault; five brothers, Frank and Joe Brooks, Billy, Carlos, and Gene Holloway; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville , GA , Rev. Wally Woodcock officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, August 12, with service following at 4:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at Andersonville National Cemetery .

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to New Hope Baptist Church, Fayetteville, GA or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
