Planning Commission Meeting Tonight (Monday, August 9)
Agenda items include the Amended Wireless Telecommunications Facilities Ordinance, a proposed site plan for development of Lexington Circle tract (formerly Lexington Circle lofts and retail tract), an ordinance pertaining to walking advertising, and an annexation request for 77 acres on the southern border of Peachtree City for an assembly and distribution facility for LowTemp Industries, Inc. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, and the public is welcome.

Volunteers Needed – Peachtree City Planning Commission
Planning Commission applications are now being accepted at City Hall until Friday, September 3, at 5:00 p.m. These are volunteer positions that help the Planning Department review site plans, rezoning requests, annexation requests, zoning, and land use ordinance amendments. Applicants must be 18 or older and have lived in Peachtree City for six months or more. Council will fill two expiring terms and select an alternate for the commission. Donate Those Old Books For A Good Cause!
The Friends of the PTC Library are planning a book sale for Saturday, October 16, as a fundraiser to support the Library. Donations of books, DVD’s, and CD’s can be brought to the circulation desk during regular Library hours. A receipt for tax purposes is available.
Chamber taking applications for 2010-2011 Leadership Fayette Class
The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Fayette is a seven-month program designed to expose business and community leaders to a wide range of critical functions in the community, such as the law enforcement and judicial systems, economic development and local industry, health & human services and education. Each class is given hands-on opportunities through team projects which benefit the community, and ultimately provide leadership development experiences. The group will meet monthly, beginning September 2, with classes from 12:00 to 5:00. Tuition is $350 for Chamber members, $395 for non-Chamber members. Applications are due by August 16.
