Grantville gospel sings moved
The monthly Grantville Gospel Sings, which have been held in Grantville’s Railroad Freight Depot, will now be held in Grantville’s New Life Baptist Church, 5710 South U.S. Hwy. 29, directly across the road from Glanton Elementary School. The sings will begin at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m., as they did in the Depot. Sings, featuring local gospel groups, are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24.

Brooks thrift shop plans clearance sale
The Second Chance Thrift Shop, an outreach of Brooks United Methodist Church, will have a giant clearance sale on Saturday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the gym at Brooks UMC. There will be a hamburger and hotdog lunch available (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) for a donation, and a bake sale with homemade goodies. Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. Flat Creek to dedicate organ
Kenneth D. Varner will be the featured performer, along with the Flat Creek Choir and congregation, when Flat Creek Baptist Church presents its organ dedication service Sunday, Aug. 1, at 6 p.m. Flat Creek is at 161 Flat Creek Trail between Ga. Highway 54 and Tyrone Road.

Providence has preschool openings
