The Young Professionals of Fayette County (YP Fayette) and the Fayette Chamber formed a team at the 2010 Relay for Life, which benefits The American Cancer Society. The team raised $4,139 with online donations and through fundraisers at the event. Their site was transformed into the “Powder Puff Parlor,” with two massage therapists, a professional makeup artist, and a Beauty Control consultant doing hand treatments. They also sold pink lemonade, and had a drawing for a Wii and Wii Fit bundle, a gorgeous gift basket donated by Flying Change, and an Atlanta Falcons hat signed by Jamal Anderson.
Also, Operation Boot Camp held a fundraiser to benefit the team and raised over $500. Overall, the event had over 1,800 participants and has raised $390,000 to date.
“We are honored to be part of such an amazing event and can’t wait for next year!”, said YP Fayette’s President and the team’s captain, Amanda Fields.
