Mrs. Betty Gail Sharpton-Sagon, 67, of Fayetteville, passed away on May 4, 2010.

Mrs. Sagon was preceded in death by her parents, Woodson Jackson Sharpton and Edna Tallant Sharpton, as well as her brothers, Doug Sharpton and Don Sharpton.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Claud H. Sagon; sons, Kevin Sagon, Craig Sagon and his wife Brigette, Heath Sagon and his wife Brenda, all of Fayetteville; daughter, Chere Sagon Mortensen and her husband Fred of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Trevor Sagon, Zoe Sagon, Mariah Smith, Cole Sagon, Devon Sagon, all of Fayetteville, Marlee Mortensen of Del Ray Beach, and Dustin Mortensen of Savannah; sisters, Marian Flynn and her husband Mason of Fayetteville, and Joyce Sagon and her husband Paul of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at Harps Crossing Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Watson and Rev. Ike Reighard officiating. Mrs. Sagon will lie in-state from 10:00 to 12:00. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
