Peachtree City fire investigators have wrapped up their investigation into a fire that nearly claimed the lives of a Peachtree City family last week.

The fire marshal has ruled that the cause of the April 1 fire is undetermined.

The blaze at 106 Lanyard Bend was discovered just after midnight by a neighbor who called 911 and then entered the smoke-filled home to awaken the Baker family so they could flee the home.

Aaron Housley, who dashed into the home while fire crews raced to the scene, said he was thankful the family was OK. Chris Baker said he was incredibly grateful for Housley’s intervention.

The fire started in the garage area of the Baker’s home, but the quality of the home construction helped keep the fire mostly confined to the garage, fire officials said.
