Mr. and Mrs. John E. Trendell of Oregon, Ohio announce the marriage of their daughter, Molly Frances Trendell, to Blake Anthony Nation, son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy D. Nation of Brooks. The wedding was Oct. 24, 2009 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesboro.
The bride wore a vintage gown with a long train and beaded waist. Jordan Roe, childhood friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Maggie and Marta Trendell, sisters of the bride, and Emily Williams and Megan Pickett, college friends of the bride.
The groom’s father was his best man. Groomsmen were A. J. Gilbert, Griffin Benedict, Kevin Bowles and Matt Miller, all teammates of the groom from Georgia Southern University.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Forest Hills Country Club.
The bride is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of science degree in biology and is currently preparing for a career as an orthodontist.
After attending Georgia Southern University, the groom was drafted in 2008 by the Seattle Mariners and is currently a pitcher with the Clinton LumberKings, a minor league baseball team, an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
After a honeymoon cruise, the couple will reside in Statesboro.
