Woods-Tew wedding

Jill Maria Woods and Dwayne Hulon Tew were married at Grace Christian Church on Nov. 20, 2010, in Helena, Ala. David Devane, of Birmingham, Ala., conducted the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Douglas and Lynda Woods of Peachtree City. She is the granddaughter of the late Byron and Rachel Woods, of Hapeville, and the late Armp Rafferty and Margaret Rafferty of Owensboro, Ky.

The groom is the son of Johnny Tew and Dianne Tew, of Slocumb, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Paul Peel and Mary Peel, and the late Hulon and Mildred Tew, all of Slocomb.

The bride’s sisters, Amy and Kaye Woods, of Fayetteville, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Valdmanis, of Pelham, Ala., and Jennifer Quist, of Lufkin, Texas. Junior bridesmaids were Hope and Ali Richard of Birmingham, Ala. The flower girls were Taylor and Alex Vanoy of Hoover, Ala.

Bill Burdette, of Birmingham, served as the best man. Groomsmen were David Allinder, Bobby Tillery, and Kelly Fowler, all of Birmingham. The ring bearer was Blake Vanoy, of Hoover.

Following the ceremony, an hors d’oeuvre and dance reception was held at the Pelham Civic Complex ballroom.

Mr. and Mrs. Tew honeymooned in St. Lucia and now reside in Pelham, Ala.
