A memorial service for former Peachtree City Mayor Ralph Jones will be Saturday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.
Jones, who served as the city’s second mayor from 1966-1969, died Nov. 24. Under his leadership, the city started its fire and police departments and also a Little League baseball program.
Jones moved to Peachtree City in 1961 to open one of its first industries. He served as executive vice president of the Atlanta Market Center until his retirement.
Jones was a charter member of the church and a founding member of the Peachtree City Rotary Club.
The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. The family asks in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the church or the Peachtree City Fire Department.
For an appreciation of Jones as Peachtree City’s second mayor, see Page A5.
