For seven years in a row Civil Air Patrol’s Peachtree City Falcon Field Composite Squadron has partnered with Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and thanking our veterans for their service and sacrifice. The Wreaths Across America mission is to “Remember, Honor and Teach.” The annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery started in 1992 is now performed around the country at various locations that include the Westminster Memorial Gardens on Hwy. 54 in Peachtree City.

Peachtree City Falcon Field Composite Squadron cadets will be stationed at Wal-Mart in Peachtree City Nov. 8, 14 and 15 to raise funds for a goal of 1,000 memorial wreaths. Individuals and businesses can either sponsor a wreath for $15 each or they can donate whatever amount they choose. Donations can be made at www.ga116.org or in person at the Peachtree City Wal-Mart.

The memorial wreath laying ceremony will begin Dec. 12 at noon at the Westminster Memorial Gardens. Donations will help volunteers place a memorial wreath at every gravesite in the cemetery. Every donation gets the squardron closer to reaching its goal every year.

Currently, GA-116 meets every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Road in Peachtree City. Ages 12 and up are welcome to join. Find out more about GA-116 at www.GA116.org or on Facebook.
