Ellison tapped for bank post

Kenneth H. Maloy, president and CEO of SouthCrest Bank, announced this week that veteran banking executive John Ellison has been named a Senior Mortgage Banker for SouthCrest Financial Group.

He will be based at SouthCrest Bank’s downtown location in Newnan to serve the southwest Atlanta business region and will report directly to Keith Fadeley, senior vice president and mortgage division manager for SouthCrest Bank.

Ellison comes to SouthCrest Bank after serving several years as a mortgage banker with Fifth Third Mortgage/Primary Capital Mortgage in Atlanta. Prior to this, he was president of HomeTech Mortgage Corporation in Tyrone/Peachtree City. He also served tenures at AmTrust Mortgage Corporation, Southern Capital and Chick-fil-A, Inc.

Ellison holds a bachelor’s of business administration (BBA) degree in business management from the State University of West Georgia at Carrollton. He is married with two children, and enjoys photography, water sports and playing the guitar and banjo.
