An arrest was made over the weekend in a residential burglary in Fayetteville after police spotted the 18-year-old suspect in the neighborhood.
Officers arrested Lance Wilson Dupard Saturday for the Sept. 9 burglary of a Jefferson Avenue residence, according to Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw. Dupard was recognized from evidence that had been gathered at the scene, said Crawshaw.
The burglary occurred after a window had been forced open, Crawshaw said. The occupant found that an undisclosed amount of money and an iPod had been stolen, Crawshaw said.
A warrant for Dupard had been issued after evidence gathered at the scene of the burglary tied him to the incident, Crawshaw said.
