Ethel Johnson Allen, 85, Fayetteville, formerly of Riverdale, died July 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orion H. Allen, and a daughter, Susan Annette Allen Premo. She was born and lived in Riverdale for 80 years and was a charter member of the Valley Hill Baptist Church. She moved to Fayette County in 2004 and became a member of the Woolsey Baptist Church. She loved to garden, sew, and fish, and was an avid Braves fan. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Chuck Chambers officiating.

Survivors include sons, Steve Allen, Whitesburg, Greg and Jane Allen, Montgomery, Ala.; a daughter, Alison and Kerry Phillips, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Steven Allen, Tracy Williford "T.J." Evan Allen, Adrienne Phillips, and Sydney Phillips; a great-granddaughter, Avery Williford; a brother, Alvin and Frances Johnson, Riverdale; and a sister, Ellen and Everett Hutcheson, Riverdale. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or the Woolsey Baptist Church. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
