Gov. Sonny Perdue and state water officials announced today that all drought watering restrictions have been lifted.

That means residents can go back to their full outdoor watering uses including the washing of vehicles and pressure washing of buildings. Such use, however, will remain on an odd-even schedule, officials said.

Odd-numbered addresses watering on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Even-numbered and unnumbered addresses will water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

No watering will be allowed on Fridays.

Although the outdoor water use can occur any time of the day, officials discourage landscape watering between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m because of limited effectiveness.

This is the first time since June 2006 that the state has not been operating under a restricted watering schedule due to the drought.
