On Saturday, May 30, the American Kidney Fund (AKF) will be conducting free kidney health screenings at the Ben Hill United Methodist Church’s Annual Health Fair from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
At a time when rates of the unemployed and the uninsured are on the rise, AKF hopes that these free screenings can provide early detection and prevention information to those in need. African Americans are more at risk for kidney failure than any other race. More than 1 in 3 kidney failure patients living in the United States are African American.
The church is located at 2099 Fairburn Road SW.
