Roser Dale "R. D." Jones, 82, Fayetteville, formerly of Fairburn, died June 26, 2008. He was born Oct. 18, 1925 in Fayette County, son of Julius and Addie Slaton Jones. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Shaw Jones, sons R. D. "Rocky" Jones Jr., and Joseph T. "Joey" Jones, and a sister, Joyce Jones.Graveside services were held at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn, with the Rev. Dr. George Dillard officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Morris Jones, Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Sonia Jones, Greenville, S. C.; a grandson, Drew Sistrunk; a brother, Dan Jones, Daphne, Ala.; nephews, Tim and Mary Frances Jones, Winter Gardens, Fla., and Tommy and Jane Shaw, Newnan; a niece, Ellen and Jim Thompson, Daphne, Ala.; and a stepson, Ron and Linda Owenby, Newnan.

Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
