Fayetteville Police put the nab on a DeKalb County man Wednesday, charging him with selling counterfeit movies and CDs out of his vehicle.

Kenneth McCrory, 50, was charged with unauthorized distribution and sale of recorded material, said Fayetteville Police Capt. Steve Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said police were contacted by a private investigator working for the Motion Picture Association of America, who said he bought counterfeit movies from a man selling them out of his SUV.

McCrory and his white 1999 Dodge Durango SUV were located Wednesday in the area of 891 N. Glynn Street, Crawshaw said.

Officers found 363 counterfeit movies and 820 counterfeit CDs in the vehicle, said Crawshaw, adding that some of the movies seized are currently playing in theaters. The videos consisted of children’s movies, family-oriented movies and adult videos.

Fayetteville Police are asking that anyone that may have had contact with McCrory call Det. Mike Whitlow at (770) 461-4441.
