Mary "Frances" Phillips, 91, Fayetteville, died March 22, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Parker L. Phillips, a son, Gary Phillips, parents, Rufus B. and Arrie Thornton Butler, brothers, Merrill and Marvin Butler, and sisters, Hazel Davenport, and Addie Oakley, Services were at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Wally Woodcock and the Rev. Dr. Jim Hudgins officiating. Interment was at New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail and Don Newhart, Fayetteville; a brother, Everett and Bettye Butler, Marietta; and sisters, Ida Belle Jackson, Evelyn Phillips, and Charlotte and Lester Bray, all of Fayetteville, Dot and Dorin Milam, Tyrone, and Jean Mitchell, Marietta. Carl J. Mowell & Son was in charge.
