A lesson for everyone: if you catch a burglar in your home, beware. He may bite.

A Peachtree City woman found that out yesterday after she found a juvenile standing in her living room, police said.

After police were summoned to the Laurel Court residence, the victim tried to hold the suspect down, but he bit her twice on the hand and fled the scene.

That set off a manhunt with K-9 units and the helicopter from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Later the suspect turned himself in, police said.

The suspect was charged with burglary, battery and being an ungovernable child. He was scheduled to appear today in Fayette County Juvenile Court.

Laurel Court is off Hippocket Road, just north of Kelly Drive in central Peachtree City.
