Gloria D. Hawkes, 83, Fayetteville, died Sept. 11, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Hawkes. She was longtime member of the Peachtree City First Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Services were at the Peachtree City First Baptist Church with Chaplain Howard Tisdale officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Athens. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Y. and David Elster, Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Michael Elster, and Melissa Elster. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
