Nita McFarlin, left, a native of the Bethany community, donated a painting to her church, historic Bethany United Methodist, in north Fayette County. It depicted what the church and people looked like 100 years ago. A 5 x 7 reprint will be given to the first 50 people who come to the Homecoming Service this Sunday, Sept. 23. The Rev. Sally Oakes, right, Bethany’s pastor, invites everyone to attend. Photo/Carolyn Cary.
