Mitchell, whose probable career field is business administration, sales or finance, received a National Achievement $2,500 Scholarship.

White lists medicine as a probable career field, and also received a National Achievement $2,500 Scholarship.
Williams, who also lists medicine as a probable career field, earned the National Achievement Bellsouth Scholarship. Bellsouth Achievement Scholarship awards are offered to finalists in the National Achievement Program who are children of employees of the Bellsouth family of companies.

Winchester received a National Achievement $2,500 Scholarship, and lists electrical engineering as a career field of interest.

These outstanding Black American students will receive scholarships totaling more than $2.5 million, which may be used for undergraduate study at any regionally accredited U.S. college or university. Funding for the awards is provided by over 50 corporate organizations and professional associations, and by National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
The National Achievement Program is a privately financed academic competition established in 1964 specifically to honor scholastically talented Black American youth, and to provide scholarships to a substantial number of the most outstanding participants in each annual competition. The 2007 program marks 43 annual competitions in which more than 27,800 participants have received scholarships worth approximately $88 million. The program is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance.
