On the northbound side of the expressway, two right lanes will be closed from just before Ga. Highway 138 to one mile past the Flat Shoals Road exit, officials said. The exit ramp to Flat Shoals Road will also be closed all weekend, and a detour route will be marked.
No work is planned for the southbound lanes this weekend.
The construction work begins 9 p.m. Friday night and ends Monday at 5 a.m. so the project won't affect weekday commuters.
