Hwy. 54 to be resurfaced all the way across Fayette
Ga. Highway 54 is about to get a makeover, and the work will stretch from Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City to the bridge over Camp Creek and the Flint River on the Fayette/Clayton county line, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Work on the project is slated overnight, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights, beginning Sunday, Sept. 18. No lane closures will occur during the day, officials said. More work could be scheduled if weather delays the project, officials said.
The work includes resurfacing the road and reconstructing the shoulder along the 14.19-mile stretch, officials said. The scheduled completion date is July 31, 2006, officials said.
The $3.85 million contract was awarded to APAC-Southeast.
